Why Pine & Palm
I was born and raised in a small town in Southern Oregon, smack dab in the middle of the Cascade Mountains in the beautiful Rogue Valley. In 2015 I left the pine trees and moved to Arizona, where I found myself surrounded by palms! I wanted my business to reflect where I came from and where I am now. They are both a part of who I am, and a nod to my eclectic design.
Design, decorating and organizing is something I’ve loved since I was a little girl. When the other kids were playing tag or running around the playground, I was walking into town to the local hardware store to pick out bobbles and doodads to build things. My dad was the Engine Test Cell Supervisor at a huge helicopter company, and he could build anything! So I grew up using tools and helping him in the garage, learning how to use a hammer and power tools, which fed my curiosity and hunger for creativity.
As an adult I still loved to design and create! I worked as a Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist for over 15 years, which taught me color theory, design and balance, and really helped hone my eye for what looks good together. After that I went to school and became a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist where I specialized in stress and trauma management, and I also decided to go to Real Estate school. While I may not have gone to traditional interior design school, it’s something I’ve always been passionate about and I feel like the background and education that I do have, really helps give me a different edge compared to other interior stylists.
Life can throw some crazy things our way sometimes, and it helps to have someone in your corner who can understand where you’re coming from. From working with divorcees, overwhelmed parents, couples who can’t agree on style, or clients who are inundated by a remodel, with my background I can understand the stress, and I can help you with it through the process. Because I truly believe our homes should be our sanctuary, and a place we can go to relax! The world is stressful enough, our homes don’t have to be.
